Registration is closed

As part of our preparation for the upcoming bushfire season we will be conducting a Hazard Reduction burn in a section of Elizabeth Park Scotland Island this Sunday 25th August.

This is an important initiative to reduce fuel loads and bushfire risk for residents of the island.

It is also a great training opportunity for regular brigade members and members of the Community Fire Unit. It should allow everyone to get first hand experience at fire suppression and a better understanding of fire behaviour.

We will require as many members as possible - regular Brigade members, reserve members  and Community Fire Unit members are all encouraged to attend. There will also be logistics, communications and catering work for people who are unable to work on the fire ground.

At this stage we plan to meet at the station at 8.30am on Sunday morning.

It is important that people register so we know if we have enough people to conduct the burn and so we can cater appropriately. Please register as soon as possible.

If you can only make part of the day on Sunday please register anyway and email me details of your availability to peter.lalor@live.com.au

If you have any questions please contact me by email or phone on 0401 716194.

Please note this will replace the working bee that had previously been planned and other arrangements will be made to complete this work.

The files attached below are the notice that will be distributed to residents and maps showing the approximate area of the proposed burn.
