BEFORE YOU LIGHT THAT FIRE
This guide from the RFS sets out the main things you need to know before you like a fire for hazard reduction purposes

GETTING A HAZARD REDUCTION CERTIFICATE
Do you need a Hazard Reduction Certificate? You’ll need one if you are doing a pile burn at any time of the year in the Northern Beaches LGA. After you complete this application it you’ll need to submit it to the RFS Northern Beaches District Office

GETTING A FIRE PERMIT
If you are doing a pile burn during the bushfire danger period (usually 1 October to 31 March) you’ll need a Fire Permit as well as a Hazard Reduction Certificate. Get your Hazard Reduction Certificate first then contact the Brigade on 9999 4404 or sirfb@sirfb.org.au
